The airline landed in this State, the very geographical center of Mexico.
AGUASCALIENTES, México, April 16th, 2007.- Volaris’ operations started today on this State, the 5th new destination of the airline in this year. An Airbus A319 landed at 09:05 on the main runway of Aguascalientes airport “Lic, Jesús Terán Peredo”.
Local authorities were at the airport to welcome Volaris. Within the guests were the governor of Aguascalientes, Luis Armando Reynoso Femat; the secretary of Economic Development, Armando Jiménez San Vicente; the secretary of Tourism, José Fernando Pol Pérez and the mayor of Aguascalientes, Martín Orozco Sandoval.
After the landing, airline executives offered a press conference inside the airport to talk about the reasons, meanings and impact of Volaris’ arrival. The president of the board of directors, Dr. Pedro Aspe, also thanked the enthusiasm in the reception of the airline, he exposed his thoughts saying “since today Volaris will offer what distinguish us: service, service, service”.
Authorities of Aguascalientes also thanked Volaris for choosing its State as a new destination. As a response, the executives of the airline told them that that the main reasons of selection, were the great importance of Aguascalientes as a State with great activities of tourism, agriculture, industrial, livestock farmer and commercial matters in Mexico.
At the end of the event, Volaris’ CEO, Enrique Beltranena, delivered a plaque to Román Araiza, airport’s administrator, to commemorate the beginning of operations in Aguascalientes.
